Assessment of Ecological Vulnerability on Northern Sand Prevention Belt of China Based on the Ecological Pressure–Sensibility–Resilience Model

Quantitative assessment of ecological vulnerability is great significance for protection and restoration in ecologically vulnerable regions. Here, the northern sand prevention belt (NSPB) China was assessed using an pressure–sensibility–resilience model from 2000 to 2015. Results showed that index (EVI) displayed low values eastern part high western study region. The EVI ranged 0.29 1.32 2000, with mean value 0.88, whereas it averaged 0.78 2015, ranging 0.21 1.26. Decreasing 2015 indicated status has been improved. Moreover, area proportion moderately, heavily, extremely levels occupied approximately 87% both indicating a level. Furthermore, change different were associated spatial distribution vegetation coverage, eco-environmental projects indeed effective. These findings differential strategies zones should be adopted, especially parts region, reinforced improve restoration.
